Tired Of Being Broke: I was Tired of It

By: Marie Isabel Espino

I woke up every morning for the last ten years tired of being broke. I had my own business and I was worked seven days a week. I was very devoted to my livlihood and gave it my all. My job took all of my energy and there were days that I just had nothing left at the end of the day for my three children. I just didn't know what to do except to just keep going, but I was tired of being broke. I always knew that I had to make a change in my life. I had given it my all for such a long time. Not only was I physically exhausted, but, I was mentally drained. My health was declining and my kids needed me too.
I always knew that I should not have kept all of my eggs in one basket and should have looked at other opportunities, but it seemed that every time I tried to look at making or investing in something new, well “something” would always come up. Here I was after ten years, livingthe same routine of day to day and just barely getting by. I was still in the same place and tired of being broke.

TIRED OF BEING BROKE - But Why A Change

I had enough to pay the utilities and had gas money for the truck. My family wasn't without. They had the neccesities. They at least had a roof over their heads, and at times even that was a bit "ify", the truck at least wasn't getting picked up by the bank (I had already lost one vehilcle), and well things were just tight. Sometimes, I felt like she couldn't even breathe.
I owed so many people money and had to change my cell number a couple of times. I had to screen all of my phone calls. I didn't know if the person on the phone was a bill collector or a customer. There were days that I just felt like I couldn't even go to work because she didn't know who was going to walk in through the front door or what else could possibly go wrong that day. I would go home everyday telling myself... "I'm tired of being broke. Tomorrow I will try harder, I can keep going, I'll make it".

Tired Of Being Broke - Wake Up Call

Then one day something happened... I had lost everything.
What's going to happen? How am I going to take care of my kids? I spent weeks thinking of what I was going to do. I would cry myself to sleep but I would make sure that the kids couldn't hear me.  How was I going to support my family? I started selling everything: TV's, furniture, appliances, everything, just to be able to put gas in the truck. Everything that had been acquired during the last ten years had been lost in a couple of weeks and it was as if starting from day one (ten years ago). One day, I started making calls to everyone I knew and after a couple of days, I decided to make the call to a person that I had been hesitant in dialing. This gentleman was very successful and was a millionaire. I actually had been introduced to this person two years before in my place of business by a very good friend of mine. I was so nervous but this person was so successful. I needed advice!!! That's it. "I was tired of being broke"!!!
Here is the turning point for me. When he answered the phone ("Thank God, he remembered me"!}, I said "hi" and explained my situation to him and I'll always remember the exact words that he said to me - "Marie, all I know is if I were to lose everything I had today.. I would do "Network Marketing".Tired of Being Broke
I hung up the phone and I thought to myself, "this guy is a millionaire. He has to know what he is talking about." I needed to make money and I didn't want to miss out on life. I no longer wanted to be a slave to my job and never feel broke again. I then spent a week researching the internet and one night at 3:00 a.m. in the morning, I came across Empower Network. I will not let myself ever again be tired of being broke!!!
